HEAVY WEATHER 2009: MOLAVE!

defrogThe typhoons, they begin. We are now at Signal 1.
Technically, this is the fourth Signal 1 warning we’ve had this year, but of the first three, only one came anywhere near Hong Kong and all three never built up enough strength to even rate as “severe tropical storm”, let alone a full blown typhoon. So I didn’t bother to pass those along. Even Molave isn’t expected to hit typhoon status. Heavy weatherwise, it’s definitely been a slow year for HK.
Either way, it looks like by Sunday we’ll be testing just how watertight the windows are in our new flat. We are not optimistic, frankly. But that’s a story for another time.
