The bridal unit and mother-in-law have just departed for Shanghai and points west for the next six (6) days. I’d have gone with them, but I’m still persona non grata in China for the time being.
Which means I’ve been left to my own devices until Tuesday.
Time to break out the MRI porn videos, then.
Context here.
PRODUCTION NOTE: The above video is ten times more awesome if you start playing Barry White’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” at the 1:30 mark.
I know this because YesButNoButYes has a widget set up here for you to do just that.
Do I know how to throw a party or what?
And it's only Thursday.
See through you,
This is dF

on 2009-08-27 03:29 pm (UTC)The deal is this: I am listed in the immigration database as a journalist, and therefore subject to a more rigorous visa process. And last year, because of even heavier restrictions because of the Olympics, even that was closed off to me. My applications even for a simple single-entry tourist visa were rejected out of hand.
There's no particular reason for any of it – I write about telephones technology, not politics or foreign policy. That's just the system in place, and once yr flagged in the system, that's pretty much it for you. At least it was the last time I tried about six months ago. I've heard they've relaxed things a bit, so I plan to try again soon.
But it sounds a lot cooler when I say I'm persona non grata, doesn't it? :)
