Obama Pictures and McCain PicturesITEM: Wall Street Journal columnist James Taranto says that if national security turns out to be the #1 issue in the 2012 presidential election, the GOP’s best bet is ... Dick Cheney.

Of course it’s not a new idea. That one has been batted around for a few months now.

But a number of conservatives are reportedly taking the idea seriously.

Which is silly, of course. When it’s 3.5 years to the next election, you can make the case for just about anyone as a likely candidate. Hell, at this stage I’m sure even Ron Paul has just as good a chance as anyone else. So it sounds like wishful thinking to me.

On the other hand, why not? All the other GOP hopefuls to date have quit, washed out, had affairs or otherwise made fools of themselves. Meanwhile, Cheney’s been lurking all over the Sunday talk shows predicting that Something Horrible is going to happen in Iraq, Afghanistan or even American soil, just so he can pop up later and say, “See? I told you this would happen if you voted Democrat. Obama pulled out of Iraq and closed Gitmo and stopped torturing people and look what happened. I hope yr satisfied.”

Conservatives swoon when he does that.

Which is telling, isn’t it?

So is the fact that the DNC are already running anti-Cheney ads.

You know, just in case history repeats itself.

If Cheney gets voted or appointed to anything ever again, I'm renouncing my citizenship.

I already did leave, for the past year I've been living in a country where the government doesn't believe health care is a privilege.

I've wondered about that. More likely they're trolls doing keyword searches for LJ posts they disagree with so they can shout at people like me. Or they use bots to root us out. Whatever. It amuses me (especially when they prove my point), and it's not like they're saying anything worth responding to, so I let them have at it.

I don't want Cheney anywhere near the White House, or any section of power, but I do think America is getting a bad rep from you ass hat liberals. You cause just as much problems as the idiot Republicans do such as:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090903/ap_on_go_pr_wh/us_stimulus_fact_check

Instead of rebuilding derelict bridges, your fearless leader is allowing governors to fix bridges that are perfectly fine; deprieving construction workers of new jobs. How's that for liberal thinking.

The governors fuck up so it's Obama's fault? Had he tied the governors' hands, you'd be bitching about him being too controlling. This statement is as asinine as Limbaugh blaming Sanford's affair on Obama.

And the idea that governors being wasteful with spending comes anywhere close to the shit Cheney pulled is absolutely ridiculous not ro mention ignorant.

Go back to your cave troll.

Why would I bitch about him tying the governors hands, so that American tax payer money is wisely spent instead of wasted on ill-advised projects? You clearly do NOT know me at all, so stop pretending you do.

He spends WAY too much time vacationing, and putting off the responsibility of the nation to the Senate. He should be making more of a presence, and sharing the responsibility of running the nation by actually making some solid decisions. When he fucks up, which he does a lot, he needs to stop casting the blame on Bush. We already know Bush and his family is full of morons.

You and Def Frog also need to stop kissing Obama's ass and coddling him like he's some prophesied child of legend. Almost a whole year has gone by, and his Superman aura has vanished. Americans are more certain than ever we are doomed, and that he is Jimmy Carter Junior because he hasn't done anything to stem the problems we face.

Wise up;

-Mick

First off, quit flaming me in other people's journals. Now you're even following me to journals of people you don't even know. It's pathetic. You have a problem with me, you know where I can be reached.

Second, I have never claimed Obama is any sort of messiah or "child of legend." The facts of what he's done and has tried to do are well-documented (assuming you rely on something other than Fox as your source of news). And despite his low approval ratings, Americans have an even lower approval of Congress as a whole and a lower approval even still of Republicans and they still believe that Obama is a better hope for fixing things. So quit recycling your right-wing talking points about "oh, he's the next Jimmy Carter" (I'd wager you haven't the faintest idea of Carter's administration in the first place).

Third, I haven't coddled him. I have criticized Obama's administration for not prosecuting torture more aggressively and for not railroading the Republicans like he should have after they made it clear they would not support any of the necessary components of his plans.

Now, once again, go back to your cave, little troll. It's been three months since the last time you chose to stalk me on LiveJournal, and it seems like these flare-ups of yours always occur every three months. Must be time for a refill on those anti-psychotics.
