ITEM: Microsoft scraps plans to be the exclusive sponsor of a Family Guy variety special – which was going to feature content about Windows 7 woven into the show instead of traditional commercials.

Apparently, MS officials saw the taping and decided “the content was not a fit with the Windows brand”:

The content Microsoft found not in line with its brand likely included jokes about dead people, the Holocaust and incest.

Which makes me wonder if anyone in the Microsoft marketing dept actually watched any episode of Family Guy before proposing to sponsor it.

I’m just saying.

Looking forward to see which sponsor steps up to the plate.
