Speaking of busts, over at the Daily Beast, Meghan McCain has raised one of the most important issues facing America, and one that President Obama completely ignored in his SOTU address: boob hypocrisy.

She’s got a point. Granted, she doesn’t make it very well. And I don’t know that it’s a question of fake vs real, if only because how favorable people look upon boob jobs depends a lot on (1) the size of yr community and (2) the scale and quality of the work (i.e. if you can tell they’re fake, or if you upgrade from a B to a EEE cup, mockery is more likely to ensue). And it’s fair to say that Meghan has a conflict of interest in play here (though at lest she admits it up front ... so to speak).
But I do think it’s fair comment that modern women of all sizes and nationalities are caught between the pressure to have more cleavage and being branded sluts for showing it off. (Though it could be worse – in Australia, the Moral Authorities have apparently decided that erotica should only feature busty women because A-cups are the equivalent of child porn. Nice one, Moral Authorities.)
Also, while I’m not particularly interested in defending Jessica Simpson for anything, I think all the OMG BOOBS jokes say a lot more about the people making the jokes than it does about her.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION: Insert John Ashcroft joke here.
FULL DISCLOSURE: I actually have no idea who Heidi Montag is.
Deep in the valley,
This is dF
