ITEM: 100+ years after Nicola Tesla started construction of Wardenclyffe Tower, the dream of wireless electricity is alive and well and closer to reality than ever, reports New Scientist.
And still commercially unviable apart from wireless chargers for yr BlackBerry, at least for now. Chief issues: it’s still expensive, it’s about as energy-efficient as a coal-fired power plant (on a good day) and it might give you cancer 50 years from now.
On the bright side, you won’t have to worry about Wi-Fi draining yr iPadBerry DS. And isn’t that really more important?
