defrogYr disappointing political headline of the day:
BACKGROUND: Stormy Daniels has been getting more involved in politics recently, and – after finally declaring herself a Republican – toyed with the idea of running against Vitter.
There were some suspicions she wasn’t all that serious – not least about her allegiance with the GOP, if only because her stated reason was the GOP’s recently reported fondness for lesbian bondage nightclubs.
The GOP certainly wasn’t amused, and have explicitly accused Vitter’s Democrat challenger, Rep. Charlie Melancon, of engineering the whole thing. (They also demanded the media apologize for reporting it.)
But then I suppose when yr top incumbent Family Values candidate is most well known for having diaper-play sex with prostitutes, you can’t be expected to have a sense of humor about the idea of running him against a woman who gets paid to have group sex (rather than the other way around).
Either way, Daniels managed to get in a nice parting shot:
Which is probably the most accurate statement anyone has said during the Vitter/Melancon campaign so far.
As for having a porn star as a Senator ... well, the jokes write themselves, don’t they?
But of course Daniels would never have won for that reason alone. The Constitution specifically says, “No porn stars or women of easy virtue can run for office”. It’s somewhere next to the part that says “Non-Christians need not apply.”
FUN FACT: Stormy’s filmography includes classic films like Space Nuts, in which she plays Princess Hubba Hubba.
Which makes her as qualified to be a senator as anyone else in the Senate, in my book.

On this day in particular, we should all take time to reflect on the loss to our country that comes from the sad fact that those who may truly desire to contribute to our society are barred by those who only seek to unjustly profit off it.”
