THERE’S GOING TO BE SOME CHANGES AROUND HERE

Not that you’ll notice, unless you enjoy the icons I use on LJ. 

I let my paid LJ account expire over the weekend.

Which means I’m back to an ad-supported Plus account. The only real downside (apart from saving USD20 a year) is having my icon library slashed to 15, which isn’t a huge deal, though I wish they’d let me choose which 15 I can keep.

On the plus side, you’ll get lots of ads about the latest movie and music releases. Isn’t that nice?

Anyway, as I’ve said before, I’m not leaving LJ, but it does feel like LJ is on its way out as an entity as more people abandon ship. So there’s no sense in sinking money into it.

The $20 question is, of course, if I’ll upgrade Dreamwidth to a paid account. I haven’t decided yet, but honestly, I’ve gone this far on a basic account, and the only feature I ever really made use of from my premium LJ account was the icon space. And let’s admit, no one’s really sure how long Dreamwidth will be around.

That said, it’s not off the table (as they say in The Beltway), so we’ll see.

Meanwhile, broadcasts will continue as normal.
