Back when I was in the college radio industry, I fielded a lot of requests and queries around the holidays. The Def Xmas Playlist series has generated similar discussion, and it’s interesting that a common thread, then and now, is: “Got any Christmas songs by Mercyful Fate?”

And my answer remains the same: “No, but would you settle for some King Diamond?”
