52 PIGS (#52 OF 52): CLEAN-UP ON AISLE 7
Feb. 6th, 2008 02:44 pmAnd finally, we wrap up the series with props to the grocery store chain that invented the concept of self-service grocery stores: Piggly Wiggly!

FUN FACT: Clarence Saunders, who founded Piggly Wiggly in Memphis in 1916, claims he came up with the name “Piggly Wiggly” just so people would ask him why he picked such a dumb name. Which is braggable. It's a Southern thing.
And so much for the Year Of The Pig. The Year Of The Rat begins at midnight.
Up next: 52 Rats!
Seriously. Because you asked for it.

Welcome to the Year of the Rat.
He went out in the backyard. I heard him barking and raising hell along the back fence and a few minutes later, in he comes through the doggie door and proudly drops his prize on the carpet in the living room. Ick.
