Dynamite Week continues, and if yr my age (which would make you the same age as Slash, Famke Janssen and Sherilyn Fenn), when you hear the word “dynamite” the third thing* you think of is, “that magazine from Scholastic Book Services”.
Like so.

Yes. It didn’t get much cooler than this in Fifth Grade. Retrocrush proves it with this fine covers gallery.
I know what yr thinking: “What about Tiger Beat?”
What about it? Did Tiger Beat have Chewbacca and Shaun Cassidy ON THE SAME F***ING COVER?

They did not. Fuck Tiger Beat.
*ADDENDUM: The first two things you think of when you hear the word "dynamite", of course, are (1) Looney Tunes and (2) that guy in the icon box.
Teenage kicks,
This is dF

on 2008-12-04 04:11 pm (UTC)My favorite bit was the twins with the rings that turned them into superheroes with gravity powers. I looked forward to that comic insert every month.

on 2008-12-05 02:26 am (UTC)Goodtimes! A show that made Chicago look like a warzone. It does not look like that so much now, though.

on 2008-12-05 03:43 am (UTC)I used to think Good Times was set in New York. But then I grew up around Nashville, so all those Big Name Cities look alike when yr ten years old and stupid like I was.
