
Why yes, it is in fact Banned Book Week in the US again.
Here’s a map of book challenge cases in the last couple of years. The American Library Association figures it’s a very low estimate, as 70-80% of challenges aren’t reported to the ALA.

on 2009-09-27 05:00 pm (UTC)Boss Lady and I agree that if a book is banned or challenged, it stays in the library. If it does not circulate for a few years, then we might get rid of it. zero circulation = discard pile, no matter what book it may be.
